Our nation’s (FCRA) Fair Credit Reporting Act requires that negative items on your credit report remain on your there for no more than seven years. In the case of bankruptcy, the items contained in your credit report will stay there for up to ten years and perhaps even longer depending on the circumstances.
A credit report inquiry, where you have applied for credit, can stay on your credit report for up to 24 months.
It’s also important to note that the ten year, seven year, two year term see our only time limits for reporting the items on your credit report. Always have those items removed sooner by using a credit repair and restoration service such as ourselves.
